Hey guys, if I was to come by a new gauge cluster off an SVT (I mean the whole damn thing, not just like the BNM's) will they work in my 99 SE Sport. Both the SVT's and mine have the same instruments (Tach, speedo, temp, fuel) If so, can someone tell me what is involved in installing them, or if there is already a post about how to install them? Thanks for the help! Peace y'all... Nick

yes they will work, take the old ones out and put the new ones in. i think some people had some problems with the oil temp and gas gauges reading backwards so if you have to just peel the guages and put the svt gauges on your original se oil temp and gas gauge. also, the speedo will need to be recalibrated. pull off the needle, drive next to a friend at about 70 or so and replace the needle at 70mph. this will help make it more accurate.

[flame suit on smile ]You could sign up for white/indiglo gauges that Cardoc is having made. They would be white faced, and look exactly like your SE gauges(130 speedo). They cost $50 and the indiglo is switchable between blue and green. May be a few months before they are made though. They are being made by an overseas company that produces them for Hondas and Mitsubishis. Sign up on fordcontour.org. [/flame suit off smile ]

With the indiglos you are just replacing the faces. Not the guts. The faces are the same.

Won't he have a problem since the gauging isn't the same....SVT gagues go to 160mph and the SE's go to 130(I think)....Its like changing the scale of a ruler your using.

Correct me if I'm wrong.... smile

From what I have heard at fordcontour.org is that they might make the indiglo's for the se tour's if they get enough people that want them. If not you will need to upgrade to the svt gauge's or have the speedo of the se recalibrated. I have check with a local speed shop here and they said that they can recalibrate the speedo but it is costly.

The problem with fitting the SVT guages to a 95 is that the speed sensors were different on the SVTs. So would need the SVT speed sensor or you will be totally off. Just get a set of the indiglos or Brad Noon's guages.

Actually , I have a 1996 SE cluster in my car right now as a loaner till the SVT gauges come in. Pics of this can be found here if you really don't believe me.

Also, these 96' gauges are the one's that will be used as templates for the SE gauges.
