I posted this once before in the wrong forum so I didn't get much of a response. How hard is it to replace a Mystique grille with a mesh grille? Because if there is one thing on my car that I really don't like, it's the grille. I'm just wondering if the way the hood is shaped, would it not work well. If anyone can comment on this I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Do you have a good picture of the car head-on? If so, post it in the pictures forum with the heading "Photoshop anyone?" Perhaps one of the guys can give you a hand with what it will look like.

As far as doing it, it will depend on what you're planning. Are you planning to cover the existing frame, only the centre, building your own...etc... What kind of material do you plan to use...?

The more background info for us, the better.

I'll get on the picture thing as soon as it is daylight again. Thanks for the idea.
I found some mesh and I at least want to replace the vertical slots in the grille. But I'll wait to see what some of the wizards come up with in photoshop.

From what I remember from Jeff's '98 Mystique, I think you'll have to chop off the vertical bars with a Dremel or cutoff wheel, then sand the inside of the grill frame and get that painted. Then you could mount some wire mesh to the back with silicone. We're considering this mod on his car... Make any sense?

I thought I heard about someone that just wired mesh directly over their grills, so they could switch back to stock if need be...can you do this?
