I just put on the older contour trunk lid on my 98 SVT. All I can say is BAD A$$!!! It really makes my car stick out. Just had to let everyone know...
I know the SVT is a bad A$$ car, but you don't have to follow me home just to tell me.

yeah it does look bad as hell. there was a guy near me that did this on a silver svt and it looked way better than the original lid. i am in the process of getting the svt ground effects so from the rear it should give the same effect.

I was gonna ask for everyones opinion . IM in the paint & body business, and i bought a 98 contour, a 96 parts car and im in the process of completing the 98. A guy from my chapter in georgia, recomended me to use the older lid. What do you all think. I guess it would show the colors of the paint job huh. Please give me your input.
98 LX, Eibach`s .... ICWrims / Potenza`s.... Svt kit w /duals... BASF Extreme Ocean paint( complete color change).... Bullit gas door.... Fuba DSM rear mount roof antenna.... Pre 98 trunk.... Blacked out headlamps, W/ Eyebrows.... A6 Side markers.... Shaved antenna and deck lid lock... 4 wheel disc brake conversion.... Magnaflow resinator.... SVT gauge cluster....(Yes the SVT gauge has a O/D light).... Complete mesh grill treatment, Not gutter guard.... Titinaum window tint.... Burgman custom Power window & lock conversion.... More to come as soon as i complete this one. Yeah its a LX but it has a 2.5 and it looks better then your ricer

go with the older one! like kool aid said, people dont know what kind of car we have... especially with the newer headlights...

I'm planning on adding a 95-97 GL trunk lid, and a custom wing (impreza style) to my LX. After seeing Mark's I decided it looked to good to pass up.

if your car is an SVT dont try to make it something else, if you want a pre98 trunk buy a pre98 :p

lol - well I'd gladly buy a new kit if there was one available...as for the old boot lid, I just want my car to be more unique... it's more of a CEG mod than mainstream which is what I like.

I am very happy with my new (old) trunk. The SVT looks so cool with the new trunk. I hated that big a$$ red thing... it served no purpose. IMO the older trunks look really... i cant find the word... uuuhhh... i dont know how to explain how the older trunk suits the contour. it just fits it better. i dont know what the heck i'm talking about... :rolleyes:
