Do we know how the stick is connected? In other words, would it be possible to simply make short one (yes, the threading would be a major pain) and replace the big one? confused How do you get down there to see, anyway? Does the plastic around it just pop off?

Don't quote me on this...

Undo the allan head screw and pull up the knob slightly (not too far or the wires will snap).

Pull the plastic surround at the base off and disconnect the OD wire.

Remove the handle...

This is how Neco describes it...

Thanks. Sounds kind of risky. Might have to save that for a day when I'm feeling both bored AND brave! wink

It is real easy: I cut mine about 2in. off, and rotated clock ways about 1/4in., If you do this mod make sure you make a slot on the top to make the handle stay in one place.

Same color too! T-Red with Greystone interior. Hey I was thinking about painting my dash like yours and I was wondering how you did it. Someone keyed my car and so I bought a bunch of T-Red touch up paint and I remebered seeing a powder blue S-10 with his dash painted the color as his car like you did. The trim looks textured to me so do I need to sand it down first or what? Your car looks nice like that so I definately want to do it now!

Well the dash you just need to clean very well and let dry very well. I used dishsoap to get off all the grease. I do recommend sanding(just a little) the other interior pieces that have a texture and clean them well also. Paint a few coats let dry and spray some clearcoat (a few coats) and let dry completely. Hope this helps and thanks for the compliments. I just don't want no twins. laugh
