Well, since nobody's going at it, here is a pic of said handles...

I love this interior with all the wood accents... The Mystique's wood looks OK, but the instrument bezel is covered in wood here, so are the door handle inserts... I think it sets off the interior very nicely.

This is a MkII Mondeo in the Ghia trim level with all options.

I don't see the lock/unlock button on that car...Is it just blacked out?

Dunno until someone tries.. But as for those wood inserts in the door handles, those should be swapable, wonder how to get them. I really like the upscale look of the wood accents.

Anyone have any good pics of the Mystique to see what their wood stuff looks like?

Mondeos don't have lock/unlock buttons on the handle surround. To lock the door you push the handle inwards (opposite direction to what you pull it when opening the door).

This could be a problem for Contour owners, since you'd need to use the surround from a Mondeo due to the chrome handles being shorter than the Contour handles. The Mk1 Mondeo uses longer black handles similar to the Contour, they are interchangeable but you need to use the Mk2 Mondeo surrounds or else there will be a hole left over where the longer handle used to be.

I've done the Mk1 Mondeo long black handles to Mk2 short chrome handles conversion, and it is very easy to do if you take the Mk2 surround. As I said before your main problem is the lock/unlock switch which isn't present on the Mondeo.

As for the wood-effect insert for the door-pull, they are plastic with a nice wood effect coating. I have them in my Mondeo as well, they cost around £8 each in the UK and should be a direct replacement for the Contour.

Paul.

Can you take some more detailed pics of your interior, so I can see if I want to get these or not? Thanks.

Here's a quick one I took a few mins ago. Sorry it's a bit blurry, but it's getting dark outside so I don't know if that affected it.

You can also see the chrome handle a bit better in that pic.

HTH,
Paul.

They look very different. I don't think they will fit, what do you guys think? How do they attach?
