It also supports DCL, which my scantool supports...I may have to try putting a 94-95 computer in my '88GT. I'm pretty sure I can get it to work by swapping a few pins..... That will also give me electric cooling fan control, for when I install one.
Regarding the brakes, true, but...for the price premium of a '94 over an '88, I'll just stick with my '88 and put better brakes on it!

I'm all about early 90's mustangs. What I really love is taking a corner at 60 in my 98 contour and thinking I should've gone a little faster, and taking the same corner at 50 in my friends ~94 5.0 and cruising it into the friggin guard rail!!! DON'T BUY A MUSTANG!!!
I'm a high school student with little to no money. I have a 98 Contour SE w/ 2.5L 24v V6 w/ 100k miles. I'd like to make some cheap performance upgrades <$1000 or so. I only spent 4k on the car. Mainly, I HATE Honda Civics and I want to blow them away. I usually can anyways! Any suggestions please e-mail me. devonb_37@hotmail.com

get the stang, youll love it. the contour will be your beater after you drive that stang around, trust me Trust your own impression. I had both & the Stang GT convertable would maybe be chosen for the dragstrip or perhaps a very nice top down day, but it would have to be VERY nice otherwise I would take the Tour and open the moonoof. And if I was driving the Stang, I would be wishing I was in the Tour... Now, a 03 Cobra MIGHT be another matter..

Buy a bicycle, good gas mileage. Add a little engine and you have a moped, the world's best transportation. Or buy a McLaren F1. or a Viper... wasn't this site about contours?

Funny topic....not a popular one on CEG though...
After having my mustang for about 2 months, I can say it pretty much stomps the contour in every category except specific output, low speed (sharp) cornering and hard braking...funny thing is that the much higher torque and hp rating makes up for the time you lose entering the corner when you power out the other side...plus, if you get the weight transfer just right, the 245 series rubber sticks pretty good, and the limit is predictable. The contour is very precise, but you don't have near the ability to throttle steer as you do with the mustang, so that makes up for some of its tendency to push at the limit.
The mustang is cheaper to repair, more durable, but less spacious and a little less comfortable to ride in than the contour. Build quality on my stang is much better than my contour, but that's a car by car thing.
The 5.0 cars are nice and allow you to build big hp for cheap, but don't overlook the new edge mod motor cars...my car does a 13.95 quarter mile @ 100 and its bone stock....which would indicate that the mustang is back and better than ever....companies are already coming out with new heads, cams, headers, turbos...the sky's the limit. Too bad the aftermarket for the contour didn't take off like it could have.
Two capable platforms offering two totally different feels for basically (save for the fringe like me and some others) two different consumers.
