I had to crawl in through the back seat today mad Anyone have this problem and find a solution? I'm thinking faulty weatherstripping against the window, but I can't be sure. Both front doors where frozen today, the back doors never freeze. Why me? frown

The doors froze or the locks froze? (i.e. could you hear the front door locks working or not?)

locks froze. You hear the whirrr of the locks as it tries to unlock the doors, but they just stick in the locked position. Once the car gets warm, the ice breaks free and they unlock using the power unlock button.

I've had the some problem a few times, and would love to know the solution. It sucks when it happens!!!

Mine do that as well, I have found that if you take some lock de-icer and just squirt a whole bunch wait a second and the ice breaks up and they work again.

Though I have a stupid problem, when ever it gets to be really cold say 10 or less at night. When you go to the car and try to shut the door and leave the door wont shut.

I have the same problem after I wash the car in the winter time!
What works for me is drying the inside of the door frame with a rag. When the door will not close when it is cold out, I spray the latch that holds the door closed, with WD40. It works every time. laugh

Ugh...I hate that..it has happened to me twice already..along with the latch freezing so the door wouldn't stay closed!!! I just sprayed some WD-40 on there and haven't had a problem since then... laugh

I got used to climbing in thru the back in my 92 Cherokee-would freeze in a moments notice. Have yet to take the similar route with the Tour, but its only March, and I'm in Chicago.

"LockEase" leaves a dry graphite residue, lasts all winter. Doesn't give the ice a chance to stick. Helps the ignition also, smoother operation.

When it gets really cold (-20C and under) my door handles freeze too, so even if the locks work my handles are useless, and since I have no folding rear seat, I take the Jetta to work laugh
