I installed/wired eveything correctly, it was working perfectly. Except when I was puting in the actual sidemarker in the fender, the electrical tape tore off and one of the copper spikes/wire touched the body of the car. And now all the lights work fine except the parking light (the blinker lights work fine) and the sidemarker light on the side that touched the body (passenger side). I tried replacing both bulbs but nothing. Is there A fuse or something that needs to be replaced. Thanks in advance.

the fuse for the parking lights is #33 for the left hand side and #35 for the right hand side also check #26 main lights. i have my sidemarkers in but i am having a hard time finding the diodes and resistors to do the wiring. where did you get yours from? i have checked two different radio shacks.

Mike, thanks. Fuse #35 it is. I didn't use any diodes or resisters. It was much, much easier that way (about 10 min. per side). I wired it up for single operation. I just wired two wires, ground to ground and the other wire to the parkig lights. Results: Full bright everytime the parking lights are on.

do your sidemarkers flash at all with the turn signals? are they just on with the parking lights? i got the wiring schematics off of this site, but it sure would make things easier on me if i did not have to find those damn parts. thanks

No, the sidemarkers do not flash at all. They are just on full bright whenever the parking lights are on. When the blinkers come on, the sidemarkers stay lit. Full bright is somewhat bright, but not overly bright to look out of place in any way, it looks very nice. I wired it this way cause I didn't want to mess around with all those diodes and resisters (don't know much about them or how to connect them).

Are those resistors neccesary? I just installed my lights on my car, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to hook them up like mentioned in the install how-to with out the diodes. Also I've noticed on the Audi's and VW's that their lights aren't on while the headlights or parking lights are on.

Resistor

Diode

Part numbers from here.

Or from Radio Shack

Resistor (use two or three to get the right brightness)

Diode - I think that's it.. they don't show the PIV for the different 3A diodes they have, so I figure the cheapest will be the lowest (makes sense huh? smile )

From this thread

Hopefully someone that has actually done the mod can take a look at those parts and make sure I linked the right stuffs.

Enjoy!
