What are the necessary steps I must take to make them look new again? What products do I use? They are starting to look horrible, all faded and scratched up.

Thanks

Mine did the same thing that yours are doing. Is it some kind of gritty stuff that wont clean up. Thats what mine had and i couldnt clean it with anything. I asked around to various people and everything they said didn;t even touch it. I had to just end up getting the whole new assembly from ford. But luckilly mine was still under warranty!!

I know Meguiars makes a plastic polish, i will be looking into this soon also. It supposedly works wonders for instrument cluster lenses and convertible plastic windows, so it should work well for this also.

It sounds bizarre, but toothpaste is actually really good for getting small scratches out of plastic.

Yes, toothpaste will work pretty well. Dont expect it to get all the scratches off, though.

I too started to notice that my headlights were starting to fade and turn an ugly yellow-ish tint. Turns out the first layer of plastic was chipping off, so I actually took the wifes clear fingernail polish and put a thin layer over it. It actually worked and you can't tell until you get REALLY close to them. laugh
