Before someone tell your do search I have to tell you that as of August 2001 there are no direct replacements or kits for the SVT. frown

There have been some attempts from some members to contact some companies to produce one but with no success. Just have it repainted. Unless you want to cash out for a new one

I'm going to take the liberty of assuming that you're going to replace your 'scraped' bumper cover with a new, OEM piece and that you intend to sell the 'scraped' one.

What color is your SVT? If you've got a not-too-badly damaged (read: not gouged/warped) Silver Frost SVT front bumper cover that you're willing to part with, you may have found a buyer.

.RMk..

My SVT Contour was in an accident not too long ago and the whole front bumber molding had to be replaced. Is this what you are talking about. It is one expensive piece of plastic. Anyway, it is not from as there are none anymore. It was made by some other manufacturer that makes SVT moldings. My rear bumper also had to be replaced. Worked out pretty well though since my front bumper was all scratched up from wear and tear.

The insurance estimate is pretty hard to decode. When I get my car back, I will ask who their molding supplier is and see if I can get some prices. Might be nice to know if I have to get one in the future. When I first got the car, I scratched the hell out of the front bottom because I was not used to driving a car with such low clearance!

SVT front and rear bumper covers are/were made by Nascote Industries in Nashville, IL (not the Nashville in TN). At that same plant, they built the nose and rear covers for Corvettes and other GM models. They can not/will not sell directly to the public. Not even factory seconds, which are shredded and recycled on the spot. SVT front bumper cover is Nascote mold #2531. I bought my 2nd from a bumper rebuilder in OKCY for less than $200. It was their last one.

I spoke with body shop that did my work. The story is that they were going to use a recycled front bumper cover from PPG. However, they did not have an SVT one, so they used one from Ford. As mentioned above, by Dave, the parts have Nascote stamped on them.

I priced one through my local Mercury dealership (I have a friend that works there) The total was $700 or $750. I was wanting to do this conversion to my car but I'll wait for a salvaged one.
