To my surprise, many of you asked me about my Cargo Net, at the Oceanside Meet.

The Cargo net was purchased from FORD for $50. It comes with everything you need to install it, and it is a simple 5 minute installation.

I have searched for the part number, and I cannot locate it right now.
I have searched the Internet and I think I may have found it for $32.50.

Go to this site...
http://www.fordpartsonline.com

Enter in the following info.

Year - 1998
Make - FORD
Model - CONTOUR

Click on SEARCH COLLISION.
Click on REAR BODY & FLOOR
Click on INTERIOR TRIM
Click on TRUNK
The third item listed is...

Rear Body & Floor, Interior Trim, Trunk, Cargo Net

List Price $35.71
Your Price $32.50

Go get em' !!!

Why thank you, dealer wanted $75, just a bit too much if you ask me. Does the part come with the plastic mounting knobs?

Yes, thank you for this wonderful find. My dealer wanted $60+ for this silly cargo net. Now I can justify getting one. Woohoo!

I got my trunk cargo net at my local dealer for $35.71 + tax . You guys that are paying $50 & $60 dollars for it are being RIPPED OFF !!
It IS a great investment to keep your trunk clean , but NOT for 50-60 dollars .

Here's the part # - f53z-54550a66-aa
Comes with all hardware & instructions .

I got a generic cargo net from Wal-Mart for $9. Took a few minutes to figure out how to mount it, but it does the job just the same, and saved me $20, which I spent on Type-R stickers instead smile

What I mainly want are the hooks. Has anybody found a source for hooks that will mount suitably? Once I have the hooks, I could put a small net on each side, or use bags, or anything.

I paid $50 for my cargo net 4 years ago, and I've gotten my money's worth, and more, out of it.

The hooks I use are from the kit with the cargo net from Fraud. The posts, actually, screw onto two bolts in the trunk. I wouldn't want to try and figure out the size or depth on my own.

Try Bill Jenkins on the BB. If I'm right, I got mine from him. But is was a while ago.

Paul,

IF you take the Cargo Net Part Number to a Ford Parts Dealer and ask him for just the Mounting Nuts Package, they can look them up in the Bill OF Materials for the Cargo Net and order them for you.

I broke one of mine, and had to reorder them this way. You can't find the number any other way since the net is not a STOCK item with the car.

The Cargo Net is worth every penney though. it is NOT a single net, it is more like an elastic envelope that is suspended between two posts. You can put things IN IT, not just between the trunk lid and the net.

Pete... smile

I have a $15 cargo net from JCwhitney. Just don't use the plastic things that come with it, but just take off a plastic cover at the end of the trunk (where the lock mechanism is) and attach the net to the 4 screws that are used to hold that cover. Takes like 5 min. to do and won't cost you an arm and a leg.
