Hey,

I've had my "plain Jane" 98 contour since it was new and I am ready to make some modifications. I like the Bullit fuel door, and the partially painted dash that I saw in the forums. I also would like to upgrade to Leather Seats. I have the tan interior (Black would be nice but that would be too much to modify) I found a Mistique in my town at a junk yard with Leather seats - I don't know the quality yet, but before I go looking I wanted to ask this...

Are the Mistique seats (leather) compatible with the contour? I'd like a direct swap out with no special modifications.

The SVT Leather seats are nice and I suppose I have the same question about those.

I realize that the Contour SVT leather seats are electric ( I don't know about the mistique). How hard would it be to hook up the power seats in a car that doesn't have electric seats now? Keep in mind that I'm not very handy, but I'd be willing to try to switch to leather seats if I can.

thanks
Glenn

I believe that the Mystique seats will work fine. As for the electric....you car is wired for them even if you don't have them.

Does anybody have any diagrams for the electric or tips/instructions. I'd rather not fly blind on this one.

Look under your seat, you should see the harness sticking up fron under the carpet. Should just plug right in.

I just installed leather power seats in my 2000 tour.I got them from a junk yard out of 99.When i was looking they told me that the mystique are a direct fit.under the driver seat is an empty plug but you have to put in a 30amp fuse in the power seat spot in your fuse box.look in the owners manual for the correct spot, plug in the fuse then the seat and it should be good to go.The first thing i would do though is plug in the fuse and get a test light to check for power at the pug end.good luck.

thanks... you guys are awesome!

One last question... are the door panels for the mystique a direct fit also (I don't want the nice leather seats with cloth door panels.) the mystique door panels look somewhat different.

thanks
Glenn
