Blimey, how much does a new clock cost ?

It seems like an awful lot of trouble putting one type of clock into the aperture meant for another when they're totally different shapes.

Would it not be easier to get the right shape clock from a scrapyard or the dealer.

In fact, I've got one sitting on my fridge - you sort out the postage from the UK and you can have it !

Regards

Shawn

I replaced my clock from a post 98 and put it in my 96. Works fine I just needed to solder in a new bulb. I think these clocks are almost identicle once you've detached them from the dash.

hunter green 96 mystique mtx, sabb side markers deep tints
car bra., K & N filter, hyper white low beams, after market fogs, JVC Kameleon head unit, 600 watt amp with 2 10" kicker subs, soon to come new rims

New adition 01/11/2002 The original 95SE in Midnight Red all the toys including traction control
Fog light mod, lightmoonroof switch from a focus, power antena (still wiring it up) post 98 sail panels, new water pump , Bosch quad plaitnum plugs, and a new Cat.

Other than the fact that one is an ellipsoid and the other rectangular ?

Incidentally, on the new shape Contours with clocks, are the characters light against a dark background, or dark against a light background ?

On the 1997-> Mondeos the clocks have dark characters against light backgrounds. Pre 1997 Mondeos are the opposite.

I only ask because I seem to recall someone mentioning on one of the 'indiglo' threads that the new Contour clocks were light against dark.

Shawn

They are light numbers against a dark backgroud. What is the clock you are sending me? Light on dark or Dark on light?
