Opinions on light covers

I have a silver 98 contour sport I am not sure if I should get clear or smoke light covers. What do you think?

Clear covers are highly recommended if you are wanting to protect the headlights. Smoked ones will protect too, but are mainly used for aesthetic reasons. What kind of effect are you going for?

I think they are kind of ghetto. I guess I have seen them on way too many junkers to find them good looking any more.
