I saw this on Ebay and thought you guys might want to check it out. At this time it's up to $20 but there's a reserve on it. Basically it's only got 15k miles on it, and they guy was hit on the drivers side and totalled the car.

Might be a great buy to have an extra tranny around!

If you guys want more info on the transaxle, just le me know. My friend is the one selling it. The car was a '98 (E0) and had low mileage. The motor and transaxle are in really good condition.

Just thought I'd throw my 2cents in! smile

I heard that the 99 and up have better transmissions than the 98. I have the third gear grind too and it really sucks. are there any mechanics that have a 99+ that can tell me if their transmissions are better than the 98s?

If someone here wants the trans and doesn't end up being high bid on it, let me know as I also have a 98 trans with about 34K on it for sale out of an SVT.

Also, the 2000 model year trans are better than the 98's for whoever asked. But, they are becoming increasingly rare as ford destroyed a huge amount of overstocked ones a few months back.

Wait a minute...Ford just went ahead and destroyed a bunch of SVT transmissions? If the cars are only 2 years old, that's not a good idea! I could understand if the cars were 20 years old, but...that's just wasteful! Good luck getting a new tranny if you've got a 2000 SVT huh?
