Okay, I've got a problem... I just shelled out 80 bucks for this shift knob and it can't be installed properly because it conflicts with the reverse lockout feature. I would really like to keep this knob and the reverse lockout .. any suggestions? If this isn't possible, how do I remove the reverse lockout feature??

I have a momo cobra C/F... to make it fit I had to leave off the bottom of the knob (The bottom piece that screws on). The reverse lock out will slide right over the bottom of the knob like it was meant to be there. Play with the mounting height until it fits just right… low enough so you can't see the threads, but high enough that you can unlock reverse.

Someone posted about removing the lockout, you can try to find out how via search.

I got the one without the lockout feature and got it to fit with no problem. Brings the hight of the shifter a little taller, but if you have the B&M, you won't notice much difference. laugh

You should either return the shift knob for the correct model that accomodates the reverse lockout, or you can take the lockout, out of the car.

This sounds very familiar...

You bought the race airleather aluminum. It has a cone trim ring at the bottom. Not the right model.

You need the race "s" airleather aluminum. See the subtle "s"? That makes all the difference. These "s" models have a special recess to allow the reverse lock-out to function. Plus they sit lower and and look better IMHO. Return yours and get the right one.
