(Test) Drove an SVT Contour for the first time.... It was a Silver Frost 99, with 99 SE Contour alloys, an EXTREMELY scuffed front bumper, loose side skirts, and the rear bumper grill falling off..... On the sticker it says that the odometer reading is off by several thousand miles, estimated total mileage at around 31,000 and a sticker price of, GET THIS, $14,495.... at a blue oval certified Ford dealer... Well, eventually this guy meanders up to my buddy and I, and I decide to play a little game... So I asked how low he'd go, and he flatly denied that they were the wrong wheels, so I completely stomped on him with knowledge about the car and it shut him up really fast... I could tell he didn't give a crap about the car, especially when he told my friend and I to take it for a test drive on our own.... My friend and I pull out onto the road and the first traffic light I pull up to, a motorcycle pulls up behind and rev's this crap out of his engine, so I rev that gorgeous Duratec back at him, the light goes green, and...........
nope, you ain't in be fo da lok!
I pull into the gas station, cause it needed gas....
Okay, now we have gas, so I pull onto the freeway, and give it some stick up to the speed limit, lovin' thos secondaries....

There's a police car behind so I dont go over the speed limit, and I decide, I'm going to try some twisties.... I take the next exit and head to the nearest nicest twisties around, and I say to my friend(not a car guy, and he's not had much experience in quick cars..) "Want me to chirp second?" he says yeah, so I do... FUN

then we get to those oh so glorious twisties and I blat about them, the car was pretty tight and had no rattles and the interior was pretty clean...
Time to start heading back to the freeway, and as I'm pulling on an older 2 door Nissan is in front going slowwwwww. As soon as I'm on the freeway, I pass him and accelerate up to just over triple digits(empty freeway), very smooth..... Then as I'm slowing down this Nissan goes tearing past thinking he was going to race me.... Uhm, no... I pull of the freeway, and head back to the dealer...
When we got back, I told the guy that I'd definately not pay 14.5k for a car in that bad condition with the wrong wheels, also with (found out during the test drive) a very bdly slipping clutch..... Also I asked him if the water pump had been replaced yet, and he didn't know(actually he didn't know jack about the car....). He told me that I should make an offer, but I'm figuring that 8,000 sounds right for the condition of the car, but I dunno... He didn't care, and he didn't know a thing about it.... Just out of curiosity, how much do you guys think he could ask for it?
