I need something to protect my hood from stone chips and scratches because I am a highway driver. I want to get either a bra (not the one that covers the whole front end, only teh half one) or one of those plastic deflector things.. What would you guys prefer? im not sure what would look better either..... confused

3M makes a clear tape that goes over your paint. It is used to keep the paints free from chips and bugs. You can wash it and keep it on for a long time. I am not sure who sells it.

I've got a full bra *ugh* I think it looks pretty good, adds a contrast to my T-Red car, but...
Whenever it rains, or gets wet, you have to take if off and clean the bra and the car. It's a pain when you don't have a lot of time, and it rains a lot.
Just consider that...

i have the full bra, too. it is a PITA when it rains. leaves, twigs, dirt, etc. collect under the bra. you have to take the bra off and wash it. i only use it for long trips. if you don't mind taking it off and putting it on, it's a good investment.

Stazi in the SE MI forum has a contoured bug shield on his SVT thats painted to match his car from the inside. Ask him where he got his, I think its from the UK or something.

I have a clear plastic protector thing that
fits at the front edge of the bonnet, I don't
have it on the car because I think they look
dorky and mess up the airflow. It came with
my car when I bought it. They are common
thing in Australia, lots of people fit them
and headlight protectors.
They get dirt and leaves, etc in behind them
and look crappy anyway. See the third pic
down on this page for an example fitted to
