First, the story:
So about 3 days ago i realized my coolant level was a little low...not extremely low but low enough to put some more in. So tonight I put some in. Well, I run down to QuickTrip to get some gas and nothin is out of the ordinary. I get back in the car and start it up. As I'm pulling out I realize the check engine light is on. It hasn't come on since I had my 02 replaced so I checked my guages and they looked ok so I figured I just didn't put the gas cap on enough. About another 30 seconds I glance down again and the temp guage is pinned. I turn down my music and my engine fan is just screamin. I get home kinda quick cause I didn't catch any lights and I pull in the garage and pop the hood. This is the loudest I've heard my engine. ALL OF THE LIQUID WAS BOILING. I let it sit and figure its the water pump. Tomorrow I'll get it towed to a dealership and have them check it out ASAP. This really makes me mad. I mean I shoulda expected it but still...This one might be up for sale soon. Who knows. BTW...it has about 57k on it.

Yeah I know it won't be too bad but its still $X that I wouldn't have to spend and since its a holiday weekend I probably won't get my car back til thursday or friday. Its a huge inconvenience that i just don't wanna deal with. Sorry but I'm kinda mad about it at this point.

Exactly how many problems have you had with it? I admire you for actually making the payments on the SVT yourself (something to be proud about) but if it was just the waterpump and you've had no other problems then I don't really see getting totally gung-ho "That's it, it's going."

Then again, I can understand how mad you must be at this moment. I've had several similar experiences where having such unreliability (and trips to Ford!) can get me all flaming mad about the car.

If you are serious, then wait till it's fixed and then consider... wink every time it's fixed I remember why I love the car so much!

P.S. This summer I should take preventive maintenance and replace my water pump before it falls apart - thanks for the sad reminder wink frown

Hey man, today I was driving the contour and noticed a slight wobble at low speeds and then also at high speeds. I checked my tires and there was some bad tread wear on the inside. I took it to an alignment shop and the first thing they said was "need new tires." I took it to a different shop and had some new tires put on. Took care of the majority of the problem. Went back to the alignment shop and they were too busy to look at it, but said to come back on Tuesday morning. I can't drive my car all weekend, so don't feel to out of place.`1
