So, what would be the price for a Cougar? I'm sure you could take this to NECO and get a response....

man, those are some pretty steep prices for sill plates. can't you make a few standard plates at a cheaper cost because we're not getting them custom? like one that says "Contour", or one that says "Contour SVT". also, is there anyway you can get the letters in the stock contour script?

Seeing how Brad is another CEG-er who makes parts for the masses, like myself, you can't argue price with him. Not to sound like a PR@*CK to yah Jada but you can see in the pic that its a quality piece, and theres nothing like buying a quality piece for your SVT or Tour. Also I'm sure the mark up isn't that much and I think Brad needs the money too, seeing how he need the new engine and all. By the way Brad hows that going? Are you going to a 3 Liter? Let us know and I'm sorry to have heard that your engine let go with all that road left in front of you. Roger R

Steep prices maybe for aluminum or something, but these are custom done in stainless steel from a shop that is giving us a discount and we're doing the engraving ourselves. The markup is only 15% on these things, not much considering what I'm going through as far as time... including website upgrades. Guess what, those are the base prices, custom costs more. Guess what else, that is the stock font (for SVT) look at the mat behind it, only the letter spacing is off for personal preference of Rick. The Contour SE and GL font is being looked at from a list of a couple of thousand... we'll find one that matches. The 3.0 is progressing slowly, again because of time. Basically, I've got the intake and heads off of the 3.0 and that's it. BTW, I don't do BNM for the money, I just like seeing my stuff on everyone's car

Brad, you said "I will actually have a machine turned finish on mine which is more expensive than mirror"
Is that like the dashes in a Bentley?

Is that like the dashes in a Bentley? Similar. The swirl is much larger (one row 1 3/4" turns) and what they call a "half turn" swirl (meening overlap half of the last turn). It is also similar to what the 70's Trans Ams had for the dash in a small 1/2" diameter quarter turns.

sorry, didn't mean to piss anybody off. they just seemed a bit high. would non-engraved brush finish be the same thing as the chrome mondeo sill plates that bat sells? if so, then those prices probably aren't bad. is the engraving those little horizontal lines that you see in the pictures next to "Contour SVT"? also, about stock fonts, the SVT might be also the same, but shouldn't the contour probably still be in the regular font? i guess it's a preference thing. hope you can match the stock contour font for regular contours too.

Takes more than that to piss me off. The brush finish is just that, brushed... that means little lines on it... I don't know how to explain it any better. The pics I've posted here are of the mirror finish which does resemble chrome. The etching is everything you see on the plate that does not have a mirror finish to it, lines and letters. If you want to buy BAT's and have your car say Mondeo, go ahead. I don't expect you to pay more for mine to be custom made to say Mondeo. Their's are cheaper because they make them in large batches which I can't and don't want to do to keep the custom ability available. Ahhhh, the fonts. Again, choosing from thousands, I actually have two or three that match very close, I just need to pick one. Rick chose the SVT font himself, I think he made a wise choice. Leaving the Contour the same font as the SVT next to it was also a wise choice IMHO to have continuity throughout the piece. If others feel different, speak now or forever pay a custom font premium to do so. The Contour SE and GL will have the "Contour" style of font, not the "SVT" style of font.

I am definitely interested in a set of 4
Engraved.
Way to go Brad. Glad someone is helping keep the contour aftermarket alive...
BTW others - if you don't like the prices - don't buy them. Or get together with a ton of us and maybe get them lower??? Either way complaining about someone going out of their way to help others they know showed an interest in these is not a good thing to do...
