Ok, here is the scoop. I've looked at a few of these doors at work and I think they will fit Contiques. They are all aluminum (not some plastic rip-off). I haven't tried to track them down through a dealership yet, but http://www.mustangparts.com has them listed on their site. I called and was quoted $59.99. Not too shabby... So, who's up to see if these will fit? And if they do, I see a call to Bill Jenkins coming.....

Great find! Maybe Rara can check it out firsthand. He might be able to grab one and try it on his Contour.

I would be in for something like this . . . especially because some student ripped my fuel door off at school. Cost for an unpainted replacement is $24 at local dealer. I would pay $60 for this if it fits well.

it will fit w/ a bit of modification to the plastic around the fuel filler. I just took one of the prototype pieces out to my car and the overall size is correct, but the mounting of it requires a bit of massaging as I said above. Two small slots would need to be cut on one side, and two small holes would need to be drilled on the other side, that and you need to remove the original fuel door (duh :D) Now, do this at your own risk, I did not check what is behind the spots where you need to cut/drill, so please use some common sense and check before you start in w/ the power tools
