Hey, The doors look very nice w/o ding guards. Give the car a cleaner profile. Mine's a 95 gl and I had no problems with any paint or clearcoat. Ford actually finished my car. My first Contour had the one of the crappiest original paint jobs I've ever seen! Chris

Did most people go through the various stages of prepping and polishing afterwards??? Does it make a big difference? I used WD-40, then just washed and waxed as usual. Looks great. Just wondering. Chris

Also, I'm a little "anal" about this stuff, so that's why I did the extra work... ------------------ Ryan W. 1998 T-Red SVT E0 #634 (KKM) Austin/Cedar Park, Texas ryanwood94 on AOL Instant Messenger

When I pulled the ding gaurds off my car just over a week ago, I found that at some point, some paint overspray had made it onto the driver's door, but the gaurd had not been removed at that time. There is a small strip of paint in a slightly lighter shade. The paint is peeling on my driver's door under the mirror, so I will just have a guy at work that fixes scratches take care of the peeling and blend the section where the gaurd was so that it will look like nothing was done to it. I like the looks of the car without them.
