Hello Fellow Contour Owners!!
Really want to get the windows tinted on my 98 Tour Sport. I have seen them and I really like the look. Was wondering if people have gotten in lots of trouble from this or not. If not what are the laws on the percentage you can get them tinted. I think each state is different. If so does anyone no what the requirement are in Wisconsin. Any feed back on this issue would be great. Thanks so much!!

Why does Michigan have to be the only state that gives the requirement on the front door windows in inches?

I don't know for sure either, but nothing I have seen has said other than that. Even the article you posted says "Michigan is the only state that has a four-inch limit on the front and side windows," Woodall said. That's the goofiest rule I've ever heard. I don't know of anyone who tints their windows this way, nor would it really protect you from the Sun all of the time. They should either say all or none! Some of these Michigan laws are just retarded...

you should. i got a lite mirror tint. it costed me 175, of course i had a friends friend do it for me proffesionally. i love. it makes a big difference when in the car and adds a new look to the car. just my opinion

Cway: well, for my 2 cents... I've got a black '99 here in Ohio and I'm not going to do it b/c:
A: Doesn't get hot enough that the A/C can't cool the interior down.
B: Attracts the attention of the cops.
Maybe that's cause I'm 40, but the less the cops are in my life, the better. ZZZ.

i have the same type stuff (not llumar, madico) slightly reflective. thats TRUE all out full metal, reflects more than the other ones. i love mine, i could never be without it. barely have to use the ac (i live in south carolina, its hot as anything) keeps glare out, hides valuables, less sun damage to the interior of the car, on long trips, you wont get sunburnt, added privacy, etc. i paid 150 for mine, 35% all around originally, then my rear window was switched out to 20% and a limo 5% strip thats about 4 inches past the lines on the windshield. do it man!
