O.k., i know you guys are a bunch of SUV lovers, so i thought you might like this. I personally went into the bathroom and got sick when i saw this. Of all car manufactures. I don't know about you guys, but i think i'm gonna hold off until i can get a ferrari SUV. Granted, it could kick a 'tours a**. But a proche suv??? I know the link is in a different language, but the porche web page wont post pics because they think they've discovered the cure for cancer or something. Whoever's the owner of porche, if you're reading this, i want you to stick your head close to the screen so i can smack you and ask you what you were thinking. I'm sorry, no disrespect to you suv lovers, i just hate the things. If you like them, that's cool. You can rip me a new one about my car if you'd like. web page

An SUV is okay, provided it is not produced by an exotic car manufacturer. Porsche and Ferarri??? This is getting ridiculous. Leave it to GM and Ford who already have no soul left as an auto man.
Mushu's pretty cool too!

ummm...yeah those are....something Kinda like Pontiac's all new Vibe for the American kids. Now me, I like the Aztec. Those styling cues are definitely reminesant of something I would think came out of a bad acid trip. YUCK! Hmmmmm.....let's make a car and graft a tent to it. We need more vehicles that go in the water. Or even better.... I am thinking of a new paint job for my Mystique.... Anyone remember 80's camoflauge???? geeez sometimes I crack myself up Rich

I would drive one You can't see how ugly the front is from the inside. Now, if I could get my car allowance to cover something like that... I was goofing with my boss a few months back when these photos were posted before. I tried to sell him on how much faster we could respond to service calls, and carry parts in all sorts of weather, yada yada yada. Told him I'd be happy to give up the car allowance for one of these and a gas card TB

Looks like a station wagon to me. Are they calling it an suv? The joke about suvs is people buy them but do not really want a truck-like vehicle. So they are making sort of a cross between minvans and station wagons and calling them suvs. Just buy a dang mini-van or wagon and save $5000-$10,000...you are not going off-road anyway. Pete - I gave you a rating boost...anyone who hates suvs, can't be all bad.

try www.porsche.com for more info....specifically www.porschecayenne.com, though you apparently have to register and log in to be able to see the site. (btw, note the correct spelling of porsche...) i tend to agree that porsche should stick to making sports cars and leave the SUV's to everybody else....but at least they're doing it right, if there is such a way. massive power, looks more like a bloated station wagon than a true SUV....i'd never buy one, but then again i hardly fit in the typical porsche demographics anyway. the sheer volume of SUV nameplates kind of disgusts me, but SUV's themselves don't. i don't hate something just b/c it's an SUV - but i do think there are too many bandwagon manufacturers trying to get in on the craze before it dies out. at least we've ween the transition from bigger and less efficient (re: excursion) to smaller and more car-like (upcoming chrysler pacifica, audi allroad, etc.). as long as it's not called a station wagon, but rather a "crossover" that's available w/ AWD, people will buy it like they buy bread and milk here in alabama when the word "snow" is tossed around. i hate not being able to see over the things from the seat of my RSX, but oh well. they're a fact of life...might as well get used to 'em.

Ok, I can understand buying an SUV or other type of truck if you intend to use it for what it's "meant" to do. IE: haul crap, and go off road. This is why I don't understand vehicles like the escalade, navigator, lincoln blackwood, x5, ml class of benz, and the new porsche SUV. Seems kind of pointless to spend 60+k on a car I wouldn't dare take off road or haul anything in, let alone park in the street!

Actually, 2 of the most capable off raod vehicles made have come from the "nice" manufacturers. the Mercedes "G-Wagon" has 3 differentials and can climb hills a Hummer can't make it up, (according to an old C&D article I once read) and is still available in the U.S. and Europe and what i remember my older brother's calling "the rambo Lambo" (don't know the true designation)made by Lamborghini (sp?) back in the 80's. I agree the navigator, M class, etc are pretty pointless cause what grey hair driving a Nav would take it into a 3 foot deep mud pit or even down a 2 track. But just cause Porsche is making the Cayanne, don't automatically accuse them of selling their souls to sales number gods.
