Dos anyone have information concerning the "Mystic" paint used on some SVT Mustangs? Its the stuff that appears to change color depending on the angle from which it is viewed. I saw a sort-of gold going to orange in the SVT Enthusiast Vol 2 Issue 3 .. It looks very similar to the PPG CART Indy Car SVT Contour Pace Car. I love the look and am interested in finding out who makes the paint and what colors are available.

Be prepared to pay around 5k to 7k for that style of paint job. Any good body shop will be able to fill you in on any ifno you need.

The good stuff is seldom cheap ... but after a week-end of car shopping I have come to the same conclusion I reached 3 years ago ... The SVT is a $30,000 car selling for a lot less. I figure if I make the investments in wheels, tires, and some upgraded brakes to go along with my rather modest performance mods I can do the paint and still have some change left over.

That's the Mystic Gold which was supposed to be available on the 2000 Cobras. The original Mystic changed between purple and green. It was available ob 96 Cobras only and was made by BASF. Since then color-shift paints have become more widely available. Like Antonio said, any good body shop should be able to help you with it. ------------------ Louis Wang Austin (Aug-May)/Sugar Land, TX 1998 Black E0 #3826, lightly modded

The original Mystic changed between more than purple and green. Green, Amber, Gold and Purple are the listed colors. Black is also visible quite often as well. There are a lot of other paints on the market that are similar to Mystic. BASF, DuPont and PPG all have similar paints. They also are not cheap. I have some pictures of my Mystic Cobra on my web site at http://www.fuller.des-moines.ia.us/Car.htm I also have some shots of a Rainbow Saleen and a Cobra replica with DuPont paint at http://www.fuller.des-moines.ia.us/tulsa2kss.html towards the bottom of the page. ------------------ Steve Fuller 2000 SVT Contour (Tropic Green / Prairie Tan) 96 Mystic SVT Cobra sfuller@fuller.des-moines.ia.us http://www.fuller.des-moines.ia.us
