Hi, thanks to everybody who helped me with my PIAA Superwhite headlights - your advice worked great and I got them in!

Right now I'm taking the next step, and pondering installing either superwhite or plasma blue turn signal lights. I realized the bulb in my SVT Contour is orange and the headlight is clear, so just replacing it with a blue/white bulb should work. I'm ignoring the side orange reflector (is that a bad idea?) Anyways I went down to the place where I buy my bulbs and they were very unhelpful. They didnt seem to know which bulb would fit in the contour. Anyways I was just wondering if you guys could help me find the right bulb, and if anyone who has done this before knows whether or not it looks good, whether or not it's easy to do, what to do about the orange reflector, and specific brand of bulbs that works well? Sorry I know that's a mouthful. Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks again

I believe the front signal bulb is 3157.

Removing the side reflector is not hard, I did it myself and it looks great!

Yes changing the bulb is simple, easier then changing the headlight. The bulb I belive is 3457 or 3157, although its extremely hard to find any hypers with those exzact number and any 3*57 combination will work. I believe mine are 3057. I dont know how they will look with the orange reflector, you can go buy a set of 3*57 plain white from your local auto store and see how it looks before you go blow 10 bucks on a set of to hypers. But heres the biggest problem, when the turn signals arnt on and the parking lights are there very dimm and dont really match the brightness of the headlight. When you are signaling they are very bright though. There is a product out there that will raise the brightness of your parking light setting and keep your turn setting. Then the parking lights will match the headlights but I dont remember what its called. But it does require you to cut your wires and thats why I havnt gotten it yet. Over all though its not bad but definatly noticable how dull the light is when the signal is off.

If you're deadset on some superwhite bulbs, I remember seeing some Hiper bulbs in 3157 format at www.autotoys.com I had considered getting a set but decided just getting rid of the reflector was enough for me.

The OE bulb on 98+ Contiques is actually a 3457NA. This is the replacement to the 3357NA. All the books at the stores have the wrong bulbs listed. A 3157 bulb will work but will not have as high of a lumen rating as the 3457. They do make a 3457LL (clear long life). I would suggest something like http://hyperbright.com which utilizes just the high wattage fillament and allows you to do away with the dimmer yellowish filament. There are other ways to achieve the same result. It looks good on our cars, IMHO.
