Hey Mr. T, I saw your username and could not resist posting a message. I actually have a vintage 1980's Mr. T airfreshner hanging in my Contour SVT.

Some things that many people consider doing to their contours are putting performance (or just for looks) headlights in. It's an easy operation and can look pretty cool. ALso, some people take SVT Rims and wheels and put them on their Contour SE. I think the SVT rims are beautiful and the wheels grip the road with tremendous force, so if you like the look and have the dough, maybe you could do that? Also there are other visual modifications like a body kit I've seen on www.erebunicorp.com, or you might want to check out BAT (British American Transfer)'s catalog for the contour. They have all sorts of body enhancements/badges as well as performance upgrades from europe. (www.batinc.net). Hope this was some help!

Welcome aboard Mr T! The first thing you should do is correct your car's greatest weakness. GET RID OF THE FACTORY STEREO! It really is a piece of sh!t. If you have the premium stereo, it is a piece of crap too. Don't believe me? Go to the Car Audio forum and ask "Is the factory stereo good?". I suggest a nice Alpine deck, or even a Nak. You see, the Tour is a really good car. It handles well, so new wheels aren't a big priority. It looks pretty good, so why mess with that. unless you can come up with a way to stretch the back seat room, the only thing left is the turd stereo. Besides, how can you pimp out a car without some groovy tunes? If you are interested, head to the car audio forum. There are lots of people there who can help you out.

Mr. T, I think one of the first things a lot
of people do is to either black out the rear
sail panels or swap them for the pre-98 style
without the "Contour" badging.

After this, installation of side markers, the
removal of the door ding strips, custom mesh
grilles, and de-badging are pretty popular on
the "lower-cost aesthetic mods" front.

Past that point, other things would include a
set of headlight covers (not my style but the
cars that have them usually look good), body-
color "chrome" trim back and front, removal
of the orange reflectors inside the headlamp
assemblies, sill protectors... for a start!

Thanks for the tips so far, i've already started getting rid of the factory system, i installed my new Sany head unit from my previus car. I ran into a prob when i tried to bypass the factory amp, me being as lazy as i am i went to bestbuy to get the amp bypass kit, which didn't fit, so i was wondering if anybody had the wiring colors to do the bypass, thanks
