So is there, or isn?t there holes behind the ?24V, DOHC? badges on my ?95 SE? I want to take these off (along with the badges on the trunk lid), but I also don?t necessarily want the side markers in their place.

As far as I know only 98+ cars have holes behind the 24V badge. Your best bet is to use some dential floss, take that baby off, and if there is a hole there order a new badge or use double sided automotive tape and reapply it. ------------------ "I don't drive my car, it drives me!" Kevin, I used the plastic strip that you wrap newspapers with, but i just used some string to remove the other badges. you only have to work the string about an inch or so and pull the rest off. I got some bug/tar remover from the auto parts store, but you really have to just roll the rest of the adhesive off with your fingers

I can say for sure that you DO NOT have holes behind your 24V/DOHC badges . If you remove them you'll have a nice smooth fender . Before you remove them , look closely to see if there are any tape lines around them , in case a body shop did a fender respray (due to any accidents , etc.) . They most likely would not have removed the badge to do so . You wouldn't want a line of clearcoat where the badge was . Use DENTAL FLOSS to remove the badges , it works really well ... trust me . Don't pull too hard , let the floss do the work . Enjoy the badgeless look ! I did . ~~~~~~~~~~Allen

I removed the badges from my 98 SVT and there were holes.
Try a hair dryer in the badge for about 5 minutes and then pry it off.

So did mine, which made it easier to do the sidemarkers but I was wondering why the 98+ contours even have holes in the fender. Since the Contour never had sidemarkers as OEM, why is there holes? ------------------ P. Valdez Las Cruces, NM 1999 navy blue SE Zetec ATX If you must drink and drive, drink PEPSI! My Car's Page!

Ford probably figured that for every 200 little chunks of metal they saved they could build 1 fender for free.

I took them off last night and there were not holes and there was a nice smooth finish. Now I just have to get a coat of wax and it'll look great.
Now for the door ding gaurds and the trunk lid.
Thanks, Mike '95 SE, ATX, KKM
