I have the Sylvania #885's and I don't think theres anything "yellow" about them, just my opinion and where in the hell did you guys find them so cheap I paid $23.00 for the pair, not alot more but I've had them for almost 2 years now and NO problem with them

Be careful with 885s, many (myself included) have melted the fog lamp lenses. Stick with an 893, it's not a big enough difference to ruin fog lamps over.

Wait, one person is saying 893s are hotter, the other is saying the 885s are hotter. I also blew a fog light bulb, so I want to know which to get. I have stock bulbs in my headlights, but as long as I need to replace a fog light, I might as well get nicer ones.

Make sure your wattage is 37W or less. I had the 885 50W bulbs and I decided to go back to the stock 893 37W bulbs because I do not want to run the risk of melting my fog lamps. In other words just stick with the stock wattage. You can get the 893 37W blue tint bulbs from autotoys which will give your foglights a bluish look. Originally posted by TheContourGuy:

I agree the light output difference between 37W and 50W bulbs is not noticeable enough to justify risking your fog lamps. If you want to improve your fog light output with the stock system, your best bet is to aim the fog lights up.

Wow, a year later and this thread is back. The stock bulbs are 883's, are 37.5 watts and are a fog lamp (black tip). The 885's are a direct replacement driving lamp (clear tip ), and are 50 watts. They are brighter and safe/legal. I've had mine in for over 2 years now with no problems and I also run my fogs as DRLs.
