I want to use some leather care products on the interior, but I'am not sure which parts are vinyl, and which parts are leather. The head rests are vinyl,as are the back of the seat, but what about the front. Are the inserts(middle section)only leather?Does the same apply to the back seat?I don't want to waster leather care products on vinyl. One last question, what products do you use on the your seats?

You should dress the vinyl as well as the leather, because if the vinyl dries out with the heat/sun, it WILL crack. Don't be stingy. The cost of leather cream ($12 max?)is far cheaper than new seats! Trust me I know this cos my Dad is a shoemaker (50 years experience) and knows all about leather, and yucky vinyl (poormans leather).

I use Lexol cleaner and Lexol conditioner from the local auto parts store. There are better products, but it's inexpensive and readily available. I've read that you should go to a tack shop (that sells stuff for horses) and use glycerine soap to clean the leather and oils to condition it... You will be able to tell the vinyl parts - the leather condioner products won't be absorbed by it. :-) Like ATCC said, you need to care for them both. Don't use any of that shiny stuff (Armor All*, etc.)on the vinyl, either. Get some good vinyl treatment product.:-) * the ONLY Armor All product I will ever use is their "Cleaner" (light blue on the label) product. It's great for *cleaning* hard plastic and vinyl. Works great on dirt/scuffmarks on the door panels and such. ------------------ 2 Red Tours! '96 GL V6 ATX - the wifes ride '98 SVT with both options - my toy! I use the Lexol or Zymol (when I can) leather products on the whole seats, not only does it protect everything, but helps them look the same.
I love the Armor All car cleaner, and I personally like the gloss of a high gloss finish on the hard vinyl surfaces, though it's not proper for the seats.
