Thinking about buying '97 Contour LX Sport #16671 05/21/02 03:31 PM

OP se24v Member S Joined: Oct 2000 Posts: 102	I am thinking about buying a '97 Contour LX V-6 with an automatic transmission. Is there anything in particular I should look for as far as problem areas? Any recalls on this year? It has 120,000 miles on the clock. I will definately be replacing the water pump if I buy it. Thanks for the help. ask around the site for a carfax and an oasis report those should give u a good idea of the vehicle's history and if there are any open recalls on it... might be a good idea to have the atx inspected if it hasn't already been replaced...some have gotten lots of miles out of their atx's but a few, myself included had to replace the atx at less than 100k ttt 95 contour se...dark blue...monsterflow air filter...remanuf atx...wiring harness recall or bust!!!96k miles...motorcraft awsf32pp plugs & red ford racing 9mm wires...kvr black plated cross-drilled rotors & carbon fiber pads...currently undergoing renovation...excuse our dust!!! are my dodgers for real????
