Hello,

Just checking to see what your opinions are on Wood Dash Kits.

Are they:
- worth the money?
- good quality?
- easy to install?
- which is better in your opinion: Walnut
or Rosewood?

Has anyone has ever seen any pictures of an installed Wood Dash Kit for either a 95 - 97 SE. If so, could you please email me with the website address or the pictures themselves.
Thanks for your times guys (and girls!)

Go Leafs Go!!!

My friend has a 98 mystique ls (not sure if that is right) that comes with the wood dash kit stock. Try looking at a dealership for the mystique and check it out in person. It will require some energy but probably worth it...

The "wood" in the Mistiques is faux wood - plastic. I would love to add some wood to my car, but all the kits I've seen (and I have looked around a lot) are "stick-on" using double sided 3M tape...not what I'm looking for. There is a company called Madera Concepts that does dash's from real wood. They do a lot of one-offs, and stuff for vintage restorations. Maybe if we could get enough people together for a group buy, they might do something for our cars. Another possibility would be to find someone with a duplicating mill, where you trace over the original, and the mill makes an exact copy. They use these for making carousel horses, for one.... The same thing could be done, tracing stock Contour dash pieces, with burl (or rosewood) stock under the mill. I've been thinking about hand fabricating a burled walnut replacement for the oval piece in the dash where the PATS light is, and maybe incorporating an nice analog clock (maybe from a Q45 or 300M). That, and a matching shift knob, would at least add a little touch of class...
