Hey guys,
Since i'm getting my new rear bumper painted - i went ahead and had the black lower screen piece painted to match - based on recomendations from some of you, as well as the front grille chrome ring. My question is - has anybody had the trunk lid chrome strip(with the ford oval in the middle) painted to match as well? Any + or - feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Eugene

I love having the chrome painted, it looks much better than before. The guy who painted it did not take the strip off to paint it, he just taped it off. If you have any questions, ask here or feel free to email me.

Mike,
That looks very cool. Thanks for posting that pic. I just spoke to the body shop guy and he was not too hot about painting the strip. He said that it wont stay on the chrome. Did your painter do anything special on the existing surface prior to painting?
Thanks,
Eugene

I think he just prepped it as he would any other piece of plastic or chrome that was going to be painted. He also painted the chrome around the grille and neither the front or rear has come off yet.(it's been about 6 months)

The only tiny, little problem is around the Ford emblem. You have to really get close to see where he had trouble sanding it, it's not a big deal, and no one can even notice it unless I point it out to them.
