All I can say is SVT and Ford did a great job with the design and handling of this car. I have 100,000 miles on my 98 SVT and it still drives, and feels, and looks like a new car. The whole trip consisted of speeds ~90-95mph on the Ohio Turnpike, and the observed fuel econ was just under 29mpg. I still cant get over that fact. Cant imagine the fuel ecn if the car had a 6th gear.

With the car parked at the hotel I caught many people looking into the windows, and wondering what type of car that was. Still inpresses me...its a 5yr old car, and it still draws the same amount of attention as it did day 1

Did i mention 4 people were in the car and we were all very comfy! Well, off to work...post your comments

Do you have any pics of your car? I'm thinking of doing tint, but know that legal in ohio (50%) wouldn't look too dark, especially since I have prairie tan leather.

By the way I live on the East side in Reynoldsburg...

Yes, the SVT is a great road tripping car.

I find it a tad stiff in the city (stiff shocks feeling) but out on the open highway it is just right, and those bumps at 30 become nothing but a little road imperfection at 80.

I have been on several road trips in the SVT and appreciate that the trunk is disproportionately large compared with the back seat.

Just wanted to say hi. Maybe we should all get together some time this summer, set a road course or something at a local high school parking lot?
