Hi,

I am not sure if this is of value to anyone, but I thought I would post given all the messages on various DRL approaches.

In Canada, DRL is required by law on all new cars. I have a 1999 SVT. What Ford did is install a relay that runs the highbeams at a lower wattage to provide DRLs. They come on automatically with the ignition and turn off when the headlights are turned on.

The part(s) would be available from any Canadian Ford dealer. In terms of DRLs, low powered highbeams are a lot more effective than fogs.

Just something I thought I would share.

Johnny: Thanks for the info. I would have considered getting the DRL relay, but I was able to rewire my fogs as DRLs. For me, it's more about coolness than safety. And just to do something with the useless fogs. Also, I live in a countryish suburban area, and don't drive on crowded highways. In terms of pure safety, I totally agree with you.
