I want to design my own intake setup. How difficult is it to remove the stock airbox? Is the stock airbox bolted on somewhere?

Also, the filter I want to use has a 3" opening. Which MAF adapter should I get to attatch it to the MAF assembly? I don't want to spend alot of money on a crummy little metal adapter!

The airbox comes out easy. Unsnap all the little metal snaps that holds the top to the bottom and the snaps that go to the MAF. Pull of the top, gotta wiggle off of MAF. Then unhook rubberband off of bottom near fenderwell. Pull the bottom up out of its grommets. When you remove the airbox and replace it with something else, you can also remove the base with the grommets that the bottom goes into. This is for the zetec.

3" is too small for a V6. the MAF opening is 3.5"
