Here it is:

Push down all the way on the gas pedal!

My gas pedal travel got a little stiff at the end. I realized the gas pedal wasn't going through it's complete range. Applied a little WD-40 to the cable and linkage and next time out I pushed a little harder on the gas pedal, and what do you know, quite a bit more power when the secondaries pop in. A real seat of the pants difference.

As a related topic, would dremelling the throttle pedal stop on the floor help? Can someone tell us for sure that when the throttle is all the way down that the throttle body is fully opened??

The accelerator pedal does not hit the metal plate on the floorpan. It's been checked before. That plate is there to hold carpet down IIRC.

do not do this!!!!! the stress that would be exerted on the line would wear it out and may become dangerous.

Alternatively, take the intake tube off the throttle body and make sure the throttle plate is opening all the way. I had to bend my throttle linkage slightly in order to get mine to open straight up.
