I have a Bassani on a stock y-pipe right now
and I want to put a Sho Shop Y-Pipe on, but
will I notice a diffrence in power, will there be a lot of rasp? Also I was thinking about buying
a cat-less y-pipe just for the track, would a catless gain a lot of power or would I lose power
because of less back pressure. And one last idea
would a catless y-pipe sound good on a Bassani
if I put in a good resonator ? Please give me some input for any of you guys that have tried these things before. Thanks a lot.

Yes, you should notice a nice gain in power.
I would also expect some rasp, but I can only speak from experience w/ a ypipe (with a cat) and a stock SVT exhaust w/o a resonator. That setup was droney and raspy.

I'd bet you would get a few extra hp.

Haven't tried it, but it would probably sound good. laugh A lack of a main cat definately makes our cars loud.

I have the Bassani and thought it was too loud (nice loud but loud) with or withour tip resonators. Added an inline 4" straight through resonator and now think the sound is perfect..slightly louder than stock, but still deep, no rasp, nil drone. I have the MSDS Y-ppe which is louder than stock but retains stock cat so it is not as loud as catless Y. I "suspect" that with both a catless Y and a resonator, the car would be about as loud as a standard Bassani with stock y (ie no cat and resonator cancel out).. But just an educated guess, I could be wrong..

If I went with the Bassani set up would I also have to buy a y-pipe? I don't have a SVT.

Doug, no you wouldn't need to get a different ypipe. I will warn you, though...modding is addictive. laugh

You'll notice a big difference in power with the cat y-pipe powerwise (after it breaks in). It will be loud and raspy and droney. I took mine off for a while cause it was getting to me. Try it out and see if it's too loud for you and add a res if you want. I would.

I have the Sho-Shop y-pipe w/cat and the Bassani. I disagree with those that say it is too loud. There is only rasp when cold and no drone. I really like it. I am also running with a Vortech SC.
