I belong to Neco since i have a Cougar but i post/troll these forums since we share lots of things. But anyway to my problem:
Ok well last Friday i tried to time my 3L which has SVT cams. Now for some weird reason the right bank or looking at the crank bolt would be the left, there is tension on the one side and really tight on the other. The key way is at the 11 o'clock position and the colored links all match up. I don't get it.
I tried timing it a total of three times now. The first time both banks did it. Now the other two times the left (looking at the crank bolt would be right) is fine but the right is wrong. I really have no idea why this is happening!
The first time i tried to time it i followed the Ford CD which says to time the left bank than turn the crank to the 3 o'clock position than time the right. Now looking at DanG build pic you can see all his timing marks are lined up and the crank is at 11 o'clock:
So i tried twice today and I'm still having the problem.... I'm out of ideas. I always turn the crank clock wise.
