ok - so the Edelbrock RPM 5503 does NOT work on an SVT, the size of the muffler is perfect, but it requires an offset/offset config, the 5503 is a center/offset setup - so it doesn't work...  i did a return and now have the Edelbrock 5542 (which is their only 2.25" offset/offset setup) but the muffler is WIDER and SHORTER than the 5503...  trying to be a pioneer, but it's costing me $$ - so far i've spent $95 on the 5503, $16 on returning it, and another $20 getting the 5542... is the 5542 going to fit, or should i just sell the sucker!

I bought a Dynomax Ultraflo 6" round muffler for $69.95 model 17230 i believe from Summitracing for the resonator. I had drone/rasp before, now it in gone.

Ditto here. The 5x8 fits perfectly and sounds sooo nice.

If you are going to do it, do it right, go 2.5" custom catback. :p

so how "wide" can the muffler be under there? (going back to my original query)

I did some measuremnts and it seemed a 6 in Diameter resonator would hang to low. How low does it hang and have you bottomed out on anything. Does any one have a suggestion for a good resonator that will bring my exhaust close to stock loudness. I have a modified y with a cat so it looks like a sho shop with cat. Sounds good but just to loud right now.
