The Eliminators will stop any check engine light that pertains to the downstream o2 sensors. They will not harm your car.

You'll pass emissions with them, but if they're smart and look under the car, you might be screwed. My mechanic is somewhat of a prick, so I'm used to this happenning.

The mil eliminators are made to trick the computer to think the pre cats are properly functioning. The upper o2 sensor will send a reading (a measure of resistance I think) to the computer then the lower o2 sensor will send another reading to the computer. These two reads should show a change, meaning the pre cat is functioning properly. All the mil eliminators do is alter the signal sent to simulate a working pre cat.

If you have to deal with tailpipe sniffer tests, your car will fail with gutted cats. I would suggest leaving the cats alone and just installing the mileliminators if the cats are not clogged.

If all you have to do is the emissions check (as in check the PCM for codes, then the car should pass with the mileliminators) if they don't see the mileliminators. Most times, they assume that you bought aftermarket O2 sensors without connectors when they see a wiring connector and tape over it.

www.mileliminators.com

My experience with the installation of Mileliminators

1) Drive up Rhino ramps ($40 at Advance).

2) Disconnect negative terminal battery.

3) Went under and unplugged connectors and then unscrewed both BOTTOM O2 sensors (22mm or 7/8 inch crescent wrench $7. You can buy a O2 sensor socket if you want, $12 at Advance).

4) In the comfort of kitchen table, splice (wire splice connectors $3) the mileliminators to the O2 sensor wires (clear and explicit instructions come with the mileliminators). Tape connection well with duct tape (water in connectors will give you P0136 or P0156 CEL codes).

5) Reinstall O2 sensors to vehicle.

6) Reconnect negative terminal battery

Took me about 1 hour 15 minutes. Vehicle might run rough for a day or so until PCM goes through the OBD II drive cycle again.

I think I read one or two people who had installed headers and retained there stock main cat and still passed the sniffer test. Yes, you will fail the sniffer test with no cats what so ever.
