I am thinking about going with a shift kit for my atx 2.5 contour. I have been researching all day and was wondering if there were any updates (Chris H) as to new products and trials of different kits. I would like to make for a quicker more aggressive shift and response thann stock. My other option was I was going to do an MTX switch so I can do the adjusting. This can be done for about 800 dollars. Just wondering if anyone had any updates, tried a kit or suggestions on what to do to get more desired response
thanks for your time
DJ

Nitrous kit sitting in garage waiting to be installed, along with msd dis ignition wich is to be put on by MSD tech's who insist it will work. waiting on manual tranny and svt conversion parts. 2.5 v6

LittleFishie I think he is talking about a auto shiftkit/valve body when he says MTX switch.

We'll find out how much an MTX conversion will cost soon enough once I get my barn finished so I can quietly collect parts... laugh

Level Ten does some amazing things with ATXs. I think their shop is in PA if you could visit for a full rebuild. I belive they sell parts and kits which could be installed at a local tranny shop. You might also want to consider a chip to change the shift points as the stock settings are less than ideal.

Actually yes I was talking about the shiftkit and valve body
However I could also do a complete swap out auto and put in a manual tranny for 800. All you gotta get is the tranny, change up some mounting points, brackets, pedals ..not all that bad really. Its not easy and it takes time but all in all ...it works

I have not put the TransGo shift kit on my tranny yet. "Kit" has sent his ATX to Level Ten and has had great results since last we heard from him. The end result for my ATX will include this same treatment. I'll probably put just the TransGo shift kit in temporarily though.

Oh, and an ATX to MTX swap will be a "little" more than $800. wink
