Okay, I do know what an air filter is, but I'll admit it, I don't know a whole lot about cars. I've heard a lot about different air filters, and want to know what types of benefits these will produce. Also, how hard are they to install? Another thing I have been wondering about, is what kind of mods could I do to lower my engine temp? Please give me any helpful advice that you have.

They range from the K&N drop in air filter to the intake that replaces the OEM accordian tube with an open air filter at the end. Benefits are most aftermarket air filters (K&N and KKM) are reuseable (just wash and reoil) and since they are made of cotton (not paper) they have better flow. Most of the air filters and intakes are fairly easy to install. wink Welcome to the CEG.

Lowering temp?

There are chemicals on the market that are meant to be added to your coolant and make it more effective at transferring/absorbing heat, or something like that. Search term: Water Wetter.

More involved, but you could install an engine oil cooler. SVT's come with one, but I'm not sure what kind of engine you have, or what the SVT one looks like. Other option is to look for a universal air-cooled type from B&M. Try CarParts.com

If you really want to get dirty, you could install a larger (thicker) radiator.
