I read in the modification section about removing the resonator? It said it gives a better sound, more power, and it's rather inexpensive. Has anyone done this and can verify that claim? I have a 96 GL with a 2.5 V6, and I'm all about more power and a better ride. Please tell me anything you know about this process and the benefits/problems. Thanks smile

hey , i just had mine removed on my SVT , and love the sounds , and the MUCH better throttle response, but i do not like the rasp it has at mid to high RPM's, if i were you i would replace the resonator with a glass packed straight through muffler(by thrush, or dynomax)and have that replace your stock resonator , it gives it the same great sound , and performance w/o the rasp. they cost about 15 bucks so its well worth it

You have a GL with a V6??? I thought all GLs have I4's. Did you do a engine swap?

Use a high flow muffler instead

Take it from me...replace resonator with high flow muffler..not a glass pack. The glass pack is cheap but it wont last. The high flow straight through muffler will reduce back pressure and last....and give you a nice throaty sound.

You may even wish to replace the rear muffler with a nice turbo muffler. I replaced mine today and combined with my high flow resonator...my car sounds great and has better response.

Good luck!

How much did that set you back Doogie? I heard it isn't too expensive.
