would anyone care to help give me advice on how to get around 300 horse to my tour. I am looking at doing a 3.0 swap but I am also curious if I could bore and stroke the 2.5 to make that much power. I haven't been able to find any kits that are for a V-6 so I am wondering if someone has any advice on how to do this. I am also wondering if I can bore the 2.5 and mill the heads to make that much power. Somebody help me cause I can't find much info on getting that much power, and I don't even know if it is possible. I just know that is what I would like to have in the car.
Thanks

Sell it and buy a mustang.

All kidding aside, anythings possible with enough money but be prepared to spend twice what the car is worth to get there...

That is the only problem I have. I don't like the way the new mustangs look or ride. I like the looks of the contour and I also plan on keeping it for a long time.

Hey Chris that is great. That is just what I am looking for. My next question would be what does it take and how much does it cost? laugh

I bore my zetec all the time with my awesome driving skills. Sometimes I stroke it, but it alwayz burns my hand if I do it right after I drive it.

Here are the cliff notes..

SVT 2.5L 200 HP stock can be prepped to about 220 HP or so with easy bolt ons, MAYBE 230-240 with alot of careful custom tweaking... Now with internal mods /headwork and BIG BUX, the pro drivers have gotton over 320 HP But not at all feasable cost/benefit.

3L block with 3L valve/SVT or 3L/SVT cam "hybrid" heads make about 220-270 HP depending on the specific plan you follow, bolt on only without expensive internals. One guy made about 290 HP with this combo using special race cams. This is a relatively cost effective approach if you can do the work.

The there is F.I., vortec S/C making up to 350 HP but some bugs with the S/C itself that may have been worked out. $3500? Then, the turbo is comming. I am betting when all said and done about 400+HP and (?$5000) but both of thes routes may be pushing the limits of both the internals (rods, bearings, cooling, oil systems etc) and drivetrain (tranny, dif, driveshafts)... big bux for a car without much resale potential.
wink But it would rock.. laugh

I suggest building a 3L for a turbo and getting the bulldog box, if you have that much money, i cant pull that much money out of my ass all at once so im doing it in stages.
