And just in time for the new Corvette Z07, which, if ya'll haven't heard, has been green-lighted, and will be available for purchase or lease at your local Chevrolet dealorship the first quarter of '09.
Also, word has been being thrown around involving an 8.3L LS Big-block.

No, but it'll blow the Enzo out of the water. I actually did some reading, and it appears that that might actually be a truck(!?!?) engine. Possibly for the Escalade.
I keep looking at it and thinking the Corvette would need one big BIG hood scoop to fit that bugger under the hood. I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem in the new Camaro, seeing as putting a cowl induction-style hood on wouldn't be a fashion Faux-pah on that particular car.
Edit again: No. I guess it is the LS9. HOLY MACKERAL!

Here's hoping that one day, cars will be lighter instead of larger engines in heavier cars.

I was under the impression that the Z07 was going to used a s/c'd version of the current Z06 motor. In this months C/D or Motortrend.

Who cares. A V8 will typically last longer than a 4-cylinder turbo rated at the same power. I would love to see how reliable a 650 hp 4 cylinder turbo would be on a daily basis. I don't want a four cylinder, not after the wonderful Technicolor Zetec ATX Mystique Experience.
Anyway, I'm surprised at how many of you don't think this is the most evil creation yet to come out of GM. a 6.2L with a blower. YAWN you say, even though it is more powerful than ANYTHING Ford has in production, not to mention Mopar or the imports.
