Those are the guys I hate... go to a school like UTI or Wyotech, don't learn a damn thing, then land a good job.
I know 2 really smart car guys off the top of my head that went to Wyotech, came back home and worked at the grocery store again since nobody would take them.
Me too I guess, got A+ certified to work on computers, landed a semi-decent IT job, then laid off (actually they tried to fire me so they didn't have to pay unemployment. shows how good of a company they are)... nobody would take me. So I joined the AF as an electrician (something else besides cars and computers I'm good at).

The guy who spent money to fly to Houston for a $2,500 V6 Camaro with mismatched body panels and 150K miles is the person who got owned.
The seller is jackass but the buyer is complete moron.

Wow. Guess you missed the part where he said that it was cheaper to fly then to drive. Gas in car + friend coming with you > you flying down yourself. Honestly, if it was cheaper to fly to a place then drive there to get a car i'd fly too.
The buyer is a deceptive [censored] and should be branded an scammer. Those guys saying it was slander should be strung up as well. The owner of the shop called him directly... thats where it got involved. The guy would have only said the shops name in passing, if at all, if the shop owner didn't call him. Seems to me it would only have been mentioned in the 'oh he said that he works here yet knows nothing about cars' type of way.
Glad he had the balls to post it.

He should never have trusted a used car dealer. Used car dealers are selling Hurricane Katrina flooded cars. If he can afford to fly out to look at a 150,000 mile car then he has more dollars than sense. LOL

Wait... so what if he had to drive 200 miles each way in his truck getting 10mpg? Would he have more dollars then sense then? People are getting hung up on the flying part...
He found a car he wanted and it just so happened it was cheaper then driving. Thats it.

What in the hell do you expect for $2,500 The seller said the car was dirty and had been smoked in, said it had been misfiring - but had cleared up, the body panels were mismatched and the car had 150K miles on it. He would take less as he just wanted the car gone.
I'm not hung up on the flying part, I'm hung up on the part where this guy expected a diamond in the rough for $2,500 or $2,000.

I could pick up an svt for 2k -2.5k... if it was more then a few miles away i'm sure people would tell me to fly out and drive it back. I read the origional ad for the car, says it was in good condition which means no major mechanical issues... 8 CEL's seems to be major mechanical to me. Seems to me that he had cash in hand and was more then ready to buy the car if it was in condition that it was advertised in, but anyways. I'm just saying that to call the buyer a moron is kinda dumb IMO.
Oh, and I'm pretty much done with this thread. All of this has been hashed out on the other tread on the other forum.

Didn't bother listening to the Audio but to me it sounds like:
-The car was a POS -The Seller was obviously shady -The buyer is an idiot

I can't believe I just read that whole thread. It actually gets pretty interesting. As far as the mismatched panels, the seller claimed to have the originals with matching paint and was going to put them back on. When the buyer got there, the mismatched panels were still one. Long story short.... the seller was a lowlife scammer!! You should actually listen to the audio and read on in the thread "where the sellers wife gets involved". Basically she got told to....
