Well Saturday August 12th will mark 2 years for me and my contour. Its been a great two years. And with all things that has happened, I had to put it together in a video.
Heads up, 8 minutes and 25mb on putfile.com I have a higher quality file, but its too large for putfile. If anyone knows where I put put up the higher quality one let me know. (~50-60mb)

lol Most people don't. But it makes my Tour my own. Not to mention my Contour is only the beginning. I've always been interested in building and fixings things. So the Contour has been my giant leap into learning alot about cars, and hopefully a step towards bigger car projects in the future. You have no clue how much I'd learned when I jumped into a project like that. I'm just turning 20, so try to remember back you didn't know anything about motors or had little hands on experience. I'm sure everyone remembers those first few times when you worked on your car. I did the scoop as my metal shop project and I had to do sketches, measurements, dimensionals drawings, and drafting. And I'm going for an Industrial Physics Major. So building and designing projects will be my job. Not to mention it was just fun and little bit of pride knowing I'm one of the few people have a functional hood scoop.

Congrats. I just passed 4 years with my SE in July and 4 months this month with the SVT. I am without both of them right now as the SVT is in storage and the SE is in the shop getting body work done after a 16 yr old girl backed into my drivers door. I am driving an 06 Cobalt rental car and i now realize how much the Contour really fits me. I'm tall (6'2") and the Cobalt has terrible leg/head room for a tall person. I feel like i'm trapped in a box in that thing. NEWAYS, here's to many more years of enjoyable Contour ownership for ya.

Thanks. :-) Yeah I'm 5' 6", 245 lbs and I've sat in a Mazda 3 and a Cobalt and both I noticed there really isn't alot of room to breathe in either car. There was an older article posted recently that said the same thing. The contour just has great space and visibility for the size of the car. My only problem will be I'll have probably to high of standard for whatever car replaces my Tour years down the road.

I think you did a good job on the scoop. It is WAY better than the fake stick on ones everyone is putting on their cars now. Some don't even bother to paint them.
Yours is functional. That makes it allright in my book.
That being said, it would match the lines of the Contour a little better if it were more curvy and less squared off. You could mold the side and rear onto the hood and make it look more like it belongs there.
Send me a photo of your car from the front with the scoop and I will show you what I mean. I tried to find one on your cardomain site, but no luck.
