well i thought i had this problem fixed but it has gotten worse lately. My car, when it is at around 1/3 tank of gas or less will stutter and buck like crazy. I had pepboys do a complete fuel system treatment and replace my fueel filter about a month ago and this seemed to help for a while anyway.

But it seems now to be worse than ever. Oone interesting thing is that it gets significantly worse when my AC is on. It usually goes away if AC gets turned off unless the tank is really low. ANyone know what the problem could be? fuel pump? Bad injectors?

btw its a 2000 CSVT

Because it's the fuel pump. Could have asked here b4 blowing $. Get an SVT focus pump for $100 and fix it yourself.

...well i did post this here before and i did what most people recomended.

but anyway, where can i find a Focus SVT FP for $100? I checked a couple sites but they were like $250.

also, i have very limited experience working on cars, and after reading the tutorial on how to replace the FP i realize that there is no way i can do this myself. any idea how many of hours are nec for a job like this? How much can i expect to pay for a garage to do it?

Well a garage is going to drop the tank instead of just pulling the rear seat. This job is about 45 minutes if you do the pull the seat route. No one will do it because of liability reasons or some BS. Do you have any CEGers in the are that AREN'T afraid to get their hands dirty? Where are you located?

Post up in the regional forum. I'm sure there are plenty that would help you out.

the shop i'm speaking with will probably service the fuel-pump-filter via the rearseat . he said he does Maxima's that way .....

also you may need the o-ring gasket from Ford . i got mine for $16 ( XS2Z-9276-AA )
