i have done a search and could not find an answer. What is the best thing to ake a heat sheild out of? Were can i buy the suppies?

IIRC, you could just chop up your stock airbox, and ue that to block the hot engine air. Or you could even get sheetmetal, and chop that up. It's all up to you...

Don't use anything that conducts heat faster than air (i.e. don't use anything metal). Otherwise, you are building a convection oven for your filter. Sorry, but I don't know what you should make it out of, just what you shouldn't.

I've used acrylic sheeting to make mine. It should insulate better than any type of metal- check out the site in my sig for pics.

Use a refrigerator...they are kind of bulky, but keep things cool!

Aren't there thermal blankets that are sold in various sized sheets that could be used?

Cut them to size and either sew, velcro, or stick the edges together using various adhesives (double sided tape, glue...whatever).

Just a thought that has been kicking around in my feeble head for a while...

I used plexi glass. Heat it up, and you can dang near move it any which way you want. wink
